Beaghmore Stone Circles date back to the late Neolithic and Early Bronze Age periods around 2,000-1,200 BC. The site consists of seven low stone circles of varying sizes, six of which are paired, and there are also cairns and megalithic rows. One of the circles stands out from the rest, as it filled with small stones. These has come to be known as the "Dragon’s Teeth". Bones, fireplaces, flint tools, burial cists and a broken porcellanite axe are some of the artefacts recovered during excavations. Archaeologists believe that only a portion of the total site has been revealed and, like many stone circles, the site is believed to have been associated with burials and religious ceremonies.
