À propos de Westhumble Chapel
Only the ruins of the West and East wall of this little Chapel of ease remain. It was probably founded in the 12th C to serve the Manor of Polesden. Small manorial chapels like this would have been a convenient places of worship for the people of Westhumble as the only local church was at Mickleham. It may have also been used by the Lord of the Manor to exact tithes from his serfs. This is a lovely romantic little ruin in an area with not much medieval archaeology.
