Alton Priors Yew

This magnificent yew tree grows in the churchyard of All Saints Church, Alton Priors. It is so huge with a girth of 27'5", it is believed to either predate or be contemporary with the Norman Church at 900 years old. It is a true wonder of nature and truly seems magical. The church was possibly built on an ancient burial mound and nearby is a Holy well called the laughing stream.
