The Dörenther cliffs are around 4 km long and up to 159 m above sea level. NN high sandstone rock formation long the upper southwest slope of the Teutoburg Forest in the Tecklenburger Land in North Rhine-Westphalia. Outstanding individual rocks are the 'Dreikaiserstuhl' in the east-south-east and the 'Hockendes Weib' in the west-north-west. There are legends about certain rock groups and their names - the cliff expressions are known nationwide due to the striking 'Hockendes Weib', around whom a tragic legend is entwined.
