À propos de Arnside Tower
A 15th Century medieval tower house. Located within Old parkland which is now field and woodland, this unusual isolated medieval tower house may have served as a hunting lodge for a younger branch of the Beetham family who had a hall nearby at Beetham. The tower is associated with the Ballad of the Last Wolf in England, Arnside Tower is represented as the bower of the fair maid Adele whose hand in marriage is sought as reward for the successful slaying of the last wolf. ? It is located nearby to Arnside Knott, a popular walk so you could include it in a hike up from Arnside, alternatively there is a footpath from Arndale cottage on the Silverdale side too.
