Hazelslack Tower est une tour-maison du XVe siècle située à Milnthorpe, dans le Lancashire, témoignant du patrimoine médiéval de Westmorland. Ce vestige architectural impressionnant représente une fortification de la petite noblesse locale, possiblement construite comme tour solaire attachée à une grand-salle en bois. Selon la tradition locale, la tour aurait été édifiée par les frères et sœurs de Thweng — Lucy, Margaret, Catherine et Thomas — qui possédaient un quart de la baronnie de Kendal, illustrant les ambitions de jeunes aristocrates du Moyen Âge tardif cherchant à affirmer leur statut militaire et chevaleresque.
Bien que largement en ruines, cette structure offre une plongée captivante dans l'histoire médiévale anglaise. Le site, propriété privée d'une famille agricole, reste accessible pour la photographie depuis la route. This may have been a fortified solar tower attached to a wooden feasting Hall, now the solar is all that remains. According to folklore is was built by Lucy, Margaret and Catherine De Thweng and their brother Thomas who owned a quarter of the Kendal barony. Perhaps an example of young members of a noble family attempting to construct a building to represent their military knightly status in the late middle ages. It is now privately owned by a farming family so do ask permission before entering, it can also be photographed from the road. »
