À propos de The Devil's Arrows
These are three very impressive monoliths standing in a field in a row. They are the second tallest standing stones in the UK standing at 6.7 metres and were raised in the Neolithic. These stones were part of the Thornborough ritual landscape and no doubt were built as another pilgrimage site in this ceremonial route. A legend states that these huge stones were the arrow heads from the Devil's now when he attempted to destroy the new Christian Town of Aldborough. Providence made them fall short and they embedded harmlessly in this field.
